Another Favorite Childhood Memory Ruined

Hollywood has officially killed one of my favorite childhood shows.  I try not to judge a movie strictly by the trailer, but seriously...I didn't smile, chuckle or giggle once when I watched this.  And since when was 21 Jumpstreet ever a comedy anyway?  It was a drama with comedic bits thrown in (usually by the wonderful Peter Deluise).

Note to Hollywood:  If you're going to do a remake of a TV show or movie--remake it!  How are you going to replace Johnny Depp (Hanson), Peter Deluise (Penhall), and Dustin Nguyen (Ioki) with...that?  We should have gotten four diverse, youthful-looking cops, a kick-ass captain (I can so see Sam Jackson playing the part of Capt. Adam Fuller) and a dynamic storyline just like we used to see on the TV show back in the day (I'll never forget that AIDS episode).  Instead, we're getting Frick and Frack and a no-comedy comedy.

And no...it doesn't help that Holly Robinson-Peete has a cameo.

I swear...if they screw up the remake of The Bodyguard...
